Meeting to Review the Draft Sub-Decree on the Organization and Functioning of the Ministry of Tourism and to Draw Lessons Learned from Organizing the 2025 Annual Tourism Conference, Setting Directions for 2026
His Excellency HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, presided over a meeting to review the draft sub-decree on the organization and functioning of the Ministry of Tourism and to draw lessons learned from the organization of the 2025 Annual Tourism Conference, as well as to set out directions for 2026.
The purpose of the meeting was to examine the draft sub-decree concerning the organization and functioning of the Ministry of Tourism, and to review experiences gained from previously organized annual conferences.
The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary of State, Secretaries of State, senior leaders, Directors-General, the Director of the Institute, and department heads—approximately 73 participants in total.
In his remarks, His Excellency the Minister stated that the Annual Conference to Review the Results of the Tourism Sector in 2025 and to Set Directions for 2026 was successfully conducted, with around 2,000 participants (both in person and online) from across the tourism sector. He also expressed his appreciation to the leadership, civil servants, and officials at all levels of the Ministry of Tourism for carrying out their roles and responsibilities with a high sense of accountability.
At the same time, His Excellency the Minister emphasized the work directions for 2026. He noted that 2025 concluded with results that were positively received by all stakeholders. As Cambodia opens a new chapter in 2026, there will be even greater tasks ahead—both in strengthening internal institutional capacity (“putting our own house in order”) and in reinforcing and developing the tourism sector externally.
